CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
Digital and print CAMPAIGN
Yearly, Children’s Cancer Research Fund creates a campaign for the month of September which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
With primary goals of increasing awareness and education about the issues surrounding childhood cancer and offering a voice of support for pediatric cancer families, this campaign is set around a simple message: we can do more for kids with cancer.

The campaign features photos of childhood cancer survivors Amaiyah, Lily, Cash and Myla doing their favorite activities.
A gradient background created a consistent look between photos and stat graphics, which allowed the CCAM graphics to stand out from other content shared throughout the month.
Stat graphics were animated to add interest as typically posts that do not feature kids do not perform as well on the Children’s Cancer Research Fund platforms.
Animated and static display ads featured on MPR introduced the theme and directed viewers to the landing page below.
Animation was featured on the website header and stat graphics. Each child had their own short bio linking to an individual featured blog post.
Online communications and ads were bolstered with a mailed postcard and a featured story in the Children’s Cancer Research Fund mailed newsletter.
Partners were sent social graphics stating “supporting Children’s Cancer Research Fund” and local partner, Punch Pizza, was given posters to display.
Shirts were created as a small way to raise funds on Bonfire and as a way to send families who participated in our campaign a thank you gift.
After success with this September campaign, the theme was chosen for the annual report as well.
